Mr ‘H’ was an apprentice joiner for 5years, who was exposed to large quantities of asbestos inhalation working alongside ‘laggers’ on-board ships at the Scotstoun Glasgow shipyard of his employers Yarrows Shipbuilding. He subsequently contracted lung cancer and died and we were contacted. We were able to establish that his lung cancer was asbestos-related (despite there being no diagnosis of asbestosis) due to his large dosage of asbestos inhalation over the 5year apprenticeship. The claims of the estate and family members were settled in full without need for litigation.
